My dear sweet friend, Anna, tagged me for this meme. I have been in a blogging slump – been working so hard to do all the things that need to be done around here that I while I have a billion things to write about I have not taken the time to write them down. So this is a fun little exercise to get me in front of the keyboard today, and maybe I’ll even get another day of our trip to Ethiopia written up before Bubba gets out of school!
Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages.)
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.
The first book I found while an intriguing read, was not quotable at all and probably doesn’t count anyway; it was near the computer where I check e-mail and read, not the computer where I write bloggy stuff. The second book I found, while sitting at the writing computer, was really really not one worth quoting – it was a Physicians Desk Reference type of thingie that belongs to my husband. Then I realized that it was Monday, and I shouldn’t have done this on a Monday!
Anyway, I cheated, and the third book I found said this:
“Humility is important for another cricical reason. The Pecking Order, at its very skeleton, is built on pride and prejudice, on the belief that some of use are better than others. Humility is the wisdom to know that each of us, in the eyes of God, is the same: deeply flawed, yet precious.” –Descending into Greatness by Bill Hybels and Rob Wilkins
And that, my friends, is a great Monday reminder! I can say that this is something I’ve been struggling with a bit lately…but I’ll save that story for another day, when I can better explain it all.
Since I’ve already proven myself a cheater, I’m also going to cheat on number 5. I’m tagging YOU. Just leave me a comment and let me know that you joined in, please! (Thanks!)

Ooh, I needed that reminder too about what humility truly means. I like that. Thanks for playing (and cheating because truth be told, I did too. The closest book to me was the dictionary, which is so not fun to quote in a blog!
