Welcome to my part of the Ultimate Blog Party that is being hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom! I hope you’ll come on in and make yourself comfortable – put your feet up; I don’t mind a bit. As a matter of fact, I encourage it. I’m informal like that!
Learning Patience is the place where I chronicle our family’s going’s ons, share some of my favorite tried and true recipes, share what I’m learning (currently I’m learning lots about how to “do” hair and edit pictures), encourage friends and family to celebrate life, and journal about our recent adoption. I’m in the midst of writing about our trip to Ethiopia – just click on the “Adoption Travel” category on the right to read more or see the pictures.
I am a stay-at-home mom to four children, ages 6, 5, 4, and just-turned 2. I love photography, scrapbooking (though I think I am going to be moving to more photobook making), cooking, watching flowers bloom and vegetables ripen in our garden, writing, music (listening to it, ’cause sadly I can’t carry a tune in a bucket), and being a wife to my amazing husband. I dislike cleaning (especially vacuuming), February, clutter (though it seems to love me), and the fact that I have somehow gotten hooked on Lost.
I hope that you are blessed by your stay here, however short or long! Oh, and before you go, be sure to tell me something about yourself!
And because no party is complete without prizes (just ask my kids!), there is a huge list of prizes too! There really is something for everyone! Some folks are giving away gift certificates like Judy (#60) who is giving away $25 to Amazon and MommyDaddyBlog (#140) who are giving away $20 at Amazon and are adorable in all of their 31 week pregnant-ness. Kids Magical Wonder (#15) is giving away a $50 gift certificate, and Cherish Bound (#48) is offering several intriguing items. I also love numbers 11, 20, 44, 59, 67, 114, and 117. WooHoo!

What a nice and welcoming blog you have. Clutter and I have a love hate relationship. I hate it…it loves me. I’m having a praise party on my blog and am planning a complete praise post sometime this week. Blessings to you!
Hello! So very nice to meet you! I love the name of your site – Learning Patience. I soooo need to learn that better…. especially when in comes to the clutter that seems to follow me all around my house. It must be something that we mothers are just destined to have to learn to deal with — those large amounts of clutter!
Enjoy the party!
Wow. I can’t even fathom all you do with two kids of your own plus just adopting two. How do you find time to photog, scrapbook, garden, write, blog. . . . ? I’m exhausted, and I’ve just been reading about it!
Thanks for the party!
Hi! nice to meet you. i’m a mom of 4 girls and yes, i am addicted to lost too and clutter also loves me!!! stop by and say hello at my party when you get a chance!

Happy Blog Party!
this is fun. i am pretty new to blogging and it is fun to meet new moms! I hate clutter too but it seems to love me, and the dining room table and the kitchen counter…
so happy to stop by!!! i’m a mommy of 2 and am slowly but surely learning to declutter….. i’ll be stopping back by!!
Sounds like we have many of the same interests! I’m glad that I stopped by!
Nice to meet you. Happy blogging!
Hi. I could learn a lil patience myself. My lack of patience is one of my biggest faults, in my mind.
I love your header picture!!!
Hope you are still enjoying the party!!!
Thanks for hosting the party here!
Jen,
How beautiful to share your “Learning Patience” journey here with everyone! God has blessed you so – I love your title and the love you obviously share with your family.
The pics of Y’s hair is just wonderful! I don’t think I’d ever have the complete patience to do that nor to sit through it. How (BTW) did you get the watermark to show up on your pictures so that no one can “take” them off your website?
It’s so nice to meet you and everyone else…
God Bless, HL
I was just visiting because of the Party but I stayed because my eyes widened and heart raced when I saw the word, ‘Adoption’. We too are a lucky family to have blessed by adoption – domestic and China. While I have a wide range of experience with adoption, I know only one family who adopted from Ethiopia and am now so happy to have ‘met’ another! Your children sound so wonderful. I will have to come back and read more when I have more time!!
Please feel free to come by and visit us any time!
Happy Easter –
