Every Christmas Eve we do some sort of scavenger hunt. One year Santa (we’ve taken the “it’s fun to pretend” road) brough the kids a big gift; other years there have been small things at the end of the hunt.
This year Handsome’s parents were not able to be with us at Christmas, so their gifts were the prize at the end of the hunt. It was good booty, so say the kids!
The kids with their clues:
Dimples, always happy to have his picture taken
Little Man, contemplating his clue
Bubba, “I don’t know where it is!”
All the clues have been gathered; now the kids are deciphering the message that leads to the loot!
“Look where the Christmas tree lives in July!”
There’s the Christmas tree box – filled with goodies!
the girls with their very special dolls
my personal favorite: after the hunt, when Gus sat down to read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (one of his gifts) to Dimples
This is the first time she has ever spontaneously offered to read anything to anyone – very exciting!
Cool idea for a gift hunt! Love seeing so many pics of the kids, they’re growing up so fast. It’s really exciting that Gus wanted to read to her brother!
I LOVE your pictures! I LOVE that both your girls look like you. I love that your youngest looks so old. Merry Christmas!
